I’ve wanted to move to Wordpress for some time now, but I have zero experience with PHP so the process was a little daunting. There were some decent changes I had to make in the coding and structure… and somehow, I was able to get my PHP feet wet without drowning.

Sewn Business Cards

It feels so great to finally get around to finalizing my new set of business cards. We had a half day of work today, so I focused on some personal work when I got home.



I really love incorporating sewing and other handmade elements in design, and I was really happy with the way my sewn resume came out a couple years ago. The extra tactile element makes it feel a little more special to me.

Shooting for the same message with my cards, I ran these through the sewing machine as well. Hopefully they'll make people take a second glance!

Teas' Tea

I saw an ad for Teas' Tea on a truck while walking to work this morning, and I really loved the packaging.

One exception: the font really bugs me.

The stripes are so pretty and modern! It would have been nice to use a font that felt the same.

I'M ON A BOAT

I went sailing with some friends last weekend and took 302 pictures. There's so much to tell, it would be way too long to say it all here.

Great Depth in Web Design

I love the illusion of depth in the design for Freelance Review. Definitely something I'd strive toward myself. It's a refreshing break from the flatness of the interwebs.

Time Lapse Video of Iceland's Volcano

Sean Stiegemeier flew out to Iceland on his own dime to shoot this gorgeous footage of Eyjafjallajokull.

I don't have words to describe what I feel when I watch this. It's beyond stunning.

Guerilla Paint Action In Berlin

"Last week a group of cyclists dumped 13 gallons of paint on the road at Berlin’s busy Rosenthaler Platz, creating a series of colourful lines as cars drove through.
The various colours of paint were dumped onto the road in large puddles at different locations throughout the intersection. As traffic drove through, the paint was spread around creating lots of colourful lines. The whole action took only a few seconds: bikers had poured paint from big boxes in front of cars that waited for green lights. So the cars and their wheels, if the driver wanted it or not, became the brush tool for this guerilla public art piece.The creators of the project posted signs on post nearby explaining that the paint wasn’t harmful and would simply wash off with water."
